Casa Achille enjoys a splendid view of Lake Como. The apartment has an equipped kitchen, living room with TV, sofa and terrace with table and chairs overlooking the lake; always on the same floor there are a bedroom with a bunk bed, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and washing machine.

Daily accommodation and use of the swimming pool at the residence “L’Ulivo” at 200 meters.

House Achilles provides, in addition to the washing machine, also liquid detergent, clothesline, ironing board and iron.

Every day guests are tidied up of the apartment,
(the bed is made, the bathroom cleaned and vacuumed; soap is always replenished).
The linen is changed every 3 days.

A few steps away, moreover, you can admire the Vezio Castle where from its terraces overlooking the lake, you can admire the famous Bellagio with its sunsets to leave you breathless.

Dear Rita and other staff, we have enjoyed our stay here so very much this 5 days en we hope to return one day. The apaziment had airconditioning and was so clean we also had a garden! The breakfast and the dinner in the evening were also fantastically!!! make sure you have a reservation because the staff and food are amazing. Rita also aRRanged us the taxi service to the boat. really amazing!! What a warm and lovely team enormously friendly and great. Greetings from Rosalie and Parents van der Poel from Holland.

Posizione fantastica con panorama mozzafiato, punto di partenza ottimale per visitare il Lago di Como godendo però della tranquillità di un borgo immerso nella natura. Rita ed il suo staff ti fanno sentire a casa e non ti fanno mancare proprio nulla. Insomma un vero angolo di paradiso.

Rita est très accueillante, excellente hôte. Hotel très calme et confortable dans un village pittoresque et charmant. Très bon petit déjeuner Piscine très agréable. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

Excellent stay! The rooms were very large, clean, and well furnished. It was great to have a kitchen and dining area. The view of Lake Como was amazing. Rita and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful. I had a late arrival, and am thankful to Rita not only for booking a taxi from the train station but for arranging for a pizza after the restaurant closed. I was attending a conference in Varenna that started early in the morning ,which meant I missed the breakfast buffet, but the staff offered to have a tray delivered to my room. The path down to Varenna takes 10-15 minutes to walk and is very steep, but it was good exercise at the end of the day.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Il Portichetto! The shuttle picked us up from the train station with no issues, the apartment was clean and well maintained, and both Rita and Kirstie were great at responding to any questions we had. The restaurant next to the hotel was also fabulous. Overall, a lovely stay and I highly recommend it!

We stayed at the lovely Casa Rita apartment. It had everything we needed and so many nice touches. We loved gathering for breakfast as well as having the restaurant available in the evenings. Rita and the team create such a nice atmosphere and make you feel like family. We would love to return in the future!

Stay 26/3/24 - Bucaneve

Rita's hospitality was marvelous.The rooms are beautiful and silent.The breakfast was excellent. Rita had some helpful tips, for example about the wayfarers way. You ned to have a Carsten or good legs, as the hotel is about 150 meter above the Lake, but it was worth every step. Last but Not least, there's Beppo the friendly dog who seems to believe he's a cat (allways lays in your way and never makes way for nobody).

 10Verificata We loved this place! Beautiful accommodation with gorgeous view from the apartment deck. The only complaint is that the dishes could have been cleaner.

Kind, helpful owner. Free parking can be arranged a little farther up the hill. Walk down to Varenna (ferries, etc) is steep and very slippery where wet. Impossible for us to climb back up. Each return trip by taxi cost $12 to $30 Euro. $$$ If your budget allows, stay down in town.

 10Verificata Rita and the rest of the staff are very accommodating and made our stay very nice. Breakfast was good. It is easy to goto town but it is a steep climb back. We couldn’t find a taxi so Rita came to pick us up. Very nice!

Il Portichetto was a lovely place and Rita a charming host. We very much enjoyed our stay and the hotel is very close to the castle and walking trails to Ballano and Fumielatte. Pool was a welcome relief after a hot day walking. Breakfast okay. Walk up from town a brisk 15 minutes.

 10Verificata Rita and all the staff made our stay special. The accommodation is quite high up in the hills and it is a tricky walk down to Varenna, about 15-20 minutes. Rita and Kirsty organised taxis for us but we did have to reserve them in advance.
The hotel is great and we had everything we needed.

The room was comfy, shower and bathroom were clean and updated, the room stayed cool with the AC. Rita really cared about her guests and was always willing to help. It is far from the city center, so plan to use a taxi since it can be a steep climb.

 10Verificata My wife and I just finished our stay at Hotel Il Portichetto - a hidden gem in Lake Como, located just above Varenna in Vezio. We were very happy with our stay here! Rita is an amazing host, as well as her sweet and friendly dog that you’ll see around the property! Rita got in touch with us before our stay and arranged for a car to pick us up from the train station, as the hotel is a bit of a hike up the mountain and we would not have been able to do that with our bags. She was also very responsive when we would message her via WhatsApp with any questions we had before arriving.

Rita and the staff were very kind, welcoming, and friendly. In addition, our room was very comfortable and clean, and it was a big and spacious room, too! It was also right by the pool and hot tub. Another thing we loved was having a washing machine and a clothes drying rack - very convenient! We enjoyed a nice dinner at the restaurant beside the hotel our first night, and a yummy breakfast the next morning.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay, with clean and comfortable rooms, a wonderful staff, and in a peaceful and relaxing spot!

Just be aware that this hotel is not actually in the town of Varenna - as mentioned above, it’s a bit of a hike up and down - maybe 15-20 minutes, and there is an incline.

However, Rita provides a list of numbers for different taxis, so if you’d rather not hike up and down, it’s less than a 10 minute taxi ride, for about
